Reverse Thinking

I found this video on a dear friends blog.  Please watch it through.
It is powerful.  We were all amazed after watching it.  (You will want to pause our blog's background music before you play this video -sorry-)

Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We did things a little differently today at church.  Our meal was held first (breakfast instead of lunch), then the service, the Lord's supper and then a wonderful Easter message.  It was a special time of fellowship as we celebrated the Lords' resurrection!

Then we held the Easter meal at our house with my grandparents, uncle, and great aunt and uncle.  And then, drum roll please....the TRADITION!

The boys of the house always jump in the pool and have the first swim of the year on Easter day, freezing cold or not!  It was around 68 degrees and sure enough they went through with it.
Will he do it???

Yup!

The three Brave Souls!
(Er..um..they were actually saying, "Hurry up and take the picture!)

As promised...

Okay, so here's what's been going on around the Hammond house lately...
We are finally moving up in the world!  Seems as if everyone we know has one of these movable electric fences from Premier, so we finally went out and bought one for ourself and we love it!  It makes moving the chickens so much easier.  So this picture is of our meat chickens in their new area with Ethan in the background.

Ethan and Malachi.  These two are best buddies!  The highlight of Malachi's day is after Ethan feeds him and
they do a goofy mixture of chase, wrestling, romping, and hide and seek!  He is one big puppy.
We bought a new milk goat, Darby.

We also rebuilt the dairy lean-to and added a lean-to to the horse barn.  Lean-to's are fast to put up, especially when you have lots of help!  I got to get on the roof with Poppy and put the tin on this time.  He is an excellent builder and we are so thankful to have him and Gram.  They are such a blessing!

The moon was so beautiful the other night and Jordan went out a snapped these photos of it.  This was taken next to the sage bush, and the next one was taken behind the blackberry patch.

Oh, yeah, and did I mention that we have had thirteen more baby goats born this last month.  So that's been keeping us very busy!  We are also preparing for the Herb Fair.  Only a few short weeks away!  (For those of you who have no idea what the Herb Fair is, you can click on this link to see last year's Herb Fair.)

The Yuck's Visit!

Long time no post!  Or at least it seems that way.  A lot has been happening at our house,...but that will have to wait for the next post.

The Yuck Family visited us again!!!  After their vacation in Florida they stopped back at our house for about four more days.  They are such a sweet family and we thoroughly enjoyed both their visits.  Here are some pictures from their time with us...

Ethan, Cherish, Liberty, Noah, Honour, and Blessing

Thing 1, Thing 2, Thing 3, Thing...okay you get the idea!
Two very serious games of Othello going on!
We all had such a good time with the Yuck family as we got to know them better.  They are dairy farmers too, so we also had that in common.  In fact, Caleb and Bethany even milked for us one night and did a superb job at it!  Cows aren't that different, right guys?  The very last night they were with us we had a wonderful little piano/sing along time.

The rest of these pictures were taken by the Yuck Family when we went to Hopeland Gardens (a local park).  Yes, I forgot the camera AGAIN!

The "Statue of Liberty"
(no pun intended!)

We can't wait to see you all again soon!

Kelsey turned 20 yesterday!!!

Kelsey has always been reliable. She is always ready to help those in need.

She is ready to tackle any challenge that comes her way! Her smile rarely leaves her face!

Kelsey loves to be outside! She loves to work hard, play hard, and laugh hard!

Most of all, she loves the Lord with all her " heart, soul, and strength".

We are thankful that the Lord has seen fit to bless us with you as a part of our family, Kelsey!

We love you and the godly woman that you have become.

"Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;"
 Deuteronomy 7:9

Happy birthday, Kels!
