26 Wonderful Years Together!

Twenty-six years ago today my parents were married!

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all thing, endures all things.
Love never fails."
-1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Mom and Dad were highschool sweethearts and married at age 20 and 21 respectively.

Shortly after they were married.

Now...
(as much in love as ever)...

We are so thankful for their love for each other and the faithfulness that they have shown us through their marriage.  We feel so very blessed to have such wonderful parents and praise the Lord for them.  May the Lord give them many, many more wonderful years together to serve Him.
Love you, Mom and Dad!  Happy Anniversary!

The Wedding Dress

Okay, you didn't really think I would put pictures up of the actual wedding dress, did you?
We have been looking for wedding dresses, and have visited several bridal shops around here, but simply could not find anything modest.  One of the shops we went to in Aiken had several hundred strapless dresses, but when we asked if they had anything modest with a high neckline and sleeves they had to go up into the attic.  They did end up finding two, but they weren't exactly what Jordan was looking for.  We were getting very discouraged.  We had no idea this would be so hard.  There had to be someplace that had modest dresses.  One of the places that we tried asked us if we were Mormon, because no one else comes in asking for modest.  Finally, we found a website that specializes in modest dresses.  They had a shop down in Lilburn, GA, The Yellow Rose.  So Friday, Dad, Mom and the three of us girls, piled up into the van and drove 2 1/2 hours down to Lilburn.  And praise the Lord, Jordan found a dress!  Sorry, but at the moment, that's all I can say about the dress!

Courageous

Today after church, our family and another family from church went to see the new movie Courageous!  We enjoyed it very much!  It was the best one so far and had a wonderful message!  I encourage everyone if they get the chance to go out and see it for yourself and support the Christian movie industry!  You can find the link to the website where you can watch the trailer here:

The Surprise Visit!!!

These pictures were taken the night before Jordan was supposed to leave.  She had just gotten off the phone with us...

...when Caleb and Bethany told her to close her eyes because they had a surprise for her. They each returned with a suitcase. Jordan thought they were giving her an extra suitcase to pack all her stuff in, until...

...Bethany asked, "How would you like some company?"

Jordan: "You're...you're coming with me?"

Caleb sang "Come fly with me, come fly, come fly away" to her!

The three traveling companions...

On their way to South Carolina...

On our way to pick up "Jordan".  Only Mom and Dad knew that Caleb and Bethany were coming too/

At the Charlotte airport, moments before the big surprise...

...and a very happy reunion!  You can imagine our surprise when Jordan came around the corner and then Noah said, "Hey, that looks like Caleb!"  Dad, pulling his leg, replied, "No, it can't be!"
Noah:  "It is!  And Bethany!"

Notice the shock on our faces as the story is slowly unraveled!  We did a lot of
"So that's why you had us do that!"  or "I was wondering why you said that!"

Out to lunch!

 Riding home

Later that night, after dinner, Jordan and Caleb went out to do their Bible reading.
This last picture was taken only about a half hour before Caleb proposed to Jordan, in the exact place where he asked her.  Hopefully I'll be able to post those pictures soon!
