On a Cooking Show...

The other week we were invited to be on the News Channel 6 cooking show to talk about our farm and goat cheese.  They also used our cheese in one of the dishes that the chef cooked.  They interviewed Mom and Dad while us kids were allowed to sit in the audience and watch everything that was going on and enjoy the delicious dishes that were being made!  Here are some pictures from behind the scenes on "The Dish On 6"!

The release form we all had to sign to agree that we wouldn't seek compensation for our wonderful "acting skills"! ;)

Enjoying the food!

Mom and Dad behind the camera!

Some of the staff setting up for the "Goat Pop Quiz" that two ladies from the audience were involved in.  Since the show hasn't aired yet, I can't tell you who won!

(This picture as well as the one below were taken using panoramic view, so if you click on it, you can see it more clearly.)

We are sitting in the couches on the left-hand side.

We were a little nervous going in, but everyone was so friendly and nice and made us feel right at home.  They were all goofing around with each other when the camera was turned off and just generally had a lot of fun!  After the show was over, one of the crew men who had heard that we were homeschooled, kindly gave us a tour of the whole news station, which included the computer room, the news room, the weather station, the commercial room and several other rooms!  We thoroughly enjoyed it and we were all glad that we had the opportunity to be a part of it!

If you are local and have Channel 6 on your TV, our show airs on Friday, September 20th, at 12:30pm on News Channel 6.  If you aren't local, you can view the pictures on facebook.com/TheDishOn6 in September.  The recipes will also be available on Pinterest in September at pinterest.com/TheDishOn6.

Victoria, The Kittens, Chicken Catching, and Family...

I couldn't very well update the blog without giving you a few pictures of my dear little niece, now could I?  Look at how big Victoria is getting!  This was Caleb's first Father's Day and it looks to me that he in enjoying every minute of it!

These pictures just make us want to drive right up there for a snuggle!
She is just so precious!

These pictures were taken on Poppy's birthday!

Three generations!

The other day we had some folks interested in our Roosters that we had for sale.  So the four of us kids went out the night before and caught them.  It was rainy to top it off!
We all got a little wet, but somehow Noah managed to get soaked!

"Oh, this shoe tastes so good!"

Clancy has been feeling a bit like the fifth wheel!  He is actually pretty protective of the kittens, but sometimes feels a little left out!  Poor guy!

Kimme, The Talking Goat

The other day, Kimme, our matron milk goat was sitting out in the field all by herself and was just begging for a picture to be taken of her.

She appears to be talking to me!

Church Heritage Day

Recently, our church celebrated it's 6th anniversary, so we decided to do something a little different,
Family Fellowship Heritage Day!

Everyone dressed up as someone from the past.  The only rules were that it had to be a real life person.  Wheels were turning and creativity was flying high!
Our family!

Mom...a.k.a. Annie Oakley

Dad (alias Paul Revere)

Savannah,...ahem, I mean Molly Pitcher

Noah...the honorable Abraham Lincoln

Honest Abe!

Me...or should I say Missionary Bertha Smith?

Ethan/the famous Francis Scott Key, writer of the Star Spangled Banner

And now for our fun-loving church members, who stepped into the past for the day to bring us a delightful Sunday to remember!
Clara Barton, Cattle Kate, and Preston Brooks

A 49'er, Alvin York, Alvin's sister, and WWII submarine engineer, and confederate soldier, and you'll have to forgive me, but I can't remember the other characters!  Oops!
