A New Member of the Family Means Another Trip to Canada! part 1

We just arrived back home after spending about 12 days visiting Caleb, Jordan, Victoria and little baby Berea.  Jordan actually called us on our way up to tell us that she was going into labor! We were able to be updated throughout the birth as to how she was doing via the Yuck family, which was wonderful, although I think it made us drive a little faster!  Berea was born at Caleb and Jordan's house at 12:54 am, with the midwife in attendance as well as an assistant!  Jordan said everything went well and fairly smooth.  Berea did have the cord wrapped around her neck, but the midwife was able to cut it quickly and no problems occurred, praise the Lord!  We arrived in Canada around 8:30 am and were able to see both mama and baby only hours after birth.  If was perfect timing!

Below are some pictures of our trip...
(If you haven't yet taken a look at the pictures over on the Yuck Family Blog of Victoria meeting her new little sister for the very first time, it is a must see!

Victoria is a very attentive older sister and she loves looking in on Berea while she sleeps.

Auntie Bethany holding Berea (or Auntie Beppy as Victoria calls her)

Caleb and Jordan had a Badminton net set up in their backyard, so that served for many hours of enjoyment for everyone!  So here's a question for you...Do you say it "Badmitton" or do you say "Badminton"?  Our family says the first, while the Yucks like to ddrraaawwww out e.v.e.r.y.  s-i-n-g-l-e syllable of the second one.  We had quite a good time teasing each other's vocabulary!

This little girlie recently received a small swimming pool for her porch and she loves it!

Bethany graciously took Savannah and I riding one afternoon.  We were able to try out two of their ponies as well as one of the horses.  I found I'm much more the horse type!

Caleb and Blessing goofing around... : )

Dad and Ethan scooping ice cream.  Can you tell what we like to eat on vacation?

Caleb, adoring his little girlie.

I think she's quite taken with him and vice versa!

Stay tuned for more pics.  This is part 1 of 4.

  1. Congratulations on the newest member of the family! She is so cute and I'm glad you all were able to make it up to Canada at the right time! By the way, we say "badmitton" as well! ;) Must be a Southern thing, I guess!
