Noah's Turning 13!!!

Today is Noah's 13th birthday!  Wow!  How time flies!

A few fun facts about Noah:

-had to have a blood transfusion when he was born

-is the only left-handed one in the family

-memorized the first few chapters of Jonah at age 8 while listening to an audio version of the book

-knocked out his permanent front tooth on a water slide at age 7

-LOVES animals

-LOVES to sing

-enjoys cheering for the rival football team opposing his Dad and brother, much to their chagrin!

-has an amazing memory and is a whiz at numbers

We love you, Noah, so very, very much!  You have a wonderful sense of humor that always keeps us laughing.  Your gentle and caring personality are a joy to have around.  You are becoming quite a dependable young man and we are enjoying watching you take on more and more responsiblilities.    We are so thankful for you and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for your life!
Love you lots!
Happy Birthday!

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
-1 Corinthians 15:58

Victoria

Here are a few pictures of Victoria that Jordan and Caleb recently sent us!

Here she is "practicing" the piano!

Here is a picture of Jordan and Victoria dressed for an old fashioned afternoon!

Mommy and Victoria went out to see how Daddy was doing with the work on the turkey barn!

Work was going along well!

And guess who is starting to eat food???  Yup!  Victoria!
(Or as Auntie Libby calls her, our "Little Niecie"!)

We can't wait to see you little one!

At the Lake...

A few Fridays ago, our family traveled up to the lake to enjoy a day of swimming, relaxing, and hanging out together.  Gram, Pop, Uncle Derald, and Aunt Frankie joined us, and we all had a lovely family time!  The lake is about an hour away, so we left after milking in the morning, spent the afternoon at the lake and made it home in time to milk in the evening!

Talking....

Enjoying lunch cooked over the grill.  Hotdogs always taste better when eaten outside...don't you think?

We took Clancy along!  It was his first time in the water and although he was slightly nervous to begin with, I think he ended really enjoying himself by the end of the day!

Eating...

...our delicious dinner!

Everyone was worn out by the time we headed home, but I think we all had a swell time!  We are already talking about going again!

On a Cooking Show...

The other week we were invited to be on the News Channel 6 cooking show to talk about our farm and goat cheese.  They also used our cheese in one of the dishes that the chef cooked.  They interviewed Mom and Dad while us kids were allowed to sit in the audience and watch everything that was going on and enjoy the delicious dishes that were being made!  Here are some pictures from behind the scenes on "The Dish On 6"!

The release form we all had to sign to agree that we wouldn't seek compensation for our wonderful "acting skills"! ;)

Enjoying the food!

Some of the staff setting up for the "Goat Pop Quiz" that two ladies from the audience were involved in.  Since the show hasn't aired yet, I can't tell you who won!

(This picture as well as the one below were taken using panoramic view, so if you click on it, you can see it more clearly.)

We are sitting in the couches on the left-hand side.

We were a little nervous going in, but everyone was so friendly and nice and made us feel right at home.  They were all goofing around with each other when the camera was turned off and just generally had a lot of fun!  After the show was over, one of the crew men who had heard that we were homeschooled, kindly gave us a tour of the whole news station, which included the computer room, the news room, the weather station, the commercial room and several other rooms!  We thoroughly enjoyed it and we were all glad that we had the opportunity to be a part of it!

If you are local and have Channel 6 on your TV, our show airs on Friday, September 20th, at 12:30pm on News Channel 6.  If you aren't local, you can view the pictures on facebook.com/TheDishOn6 in September.  The recipes will also be available on Pinterest in September at pinterest.com/TheDishOn6.

Victoria, The Kittens, Chicken Catching, and Family...

I couldn't very well update the blog without giving you a few pictures of my dear little niece, now could I?  Look at how big Victoria is getting!  This was Caleb's first Father's Day and it looks to me that he in enjoying every minute of it!

(Kellie-Anne, these pictures are for you! LOL!)

 She can sit up too!

 How cute is that hat?

These pictures just make us want to drive right up there for a snuggle!
She is just so precious!

These pictures were taken on Poppy's birthday!

Three generations!

The other day we had some folks interested in our Roosters that we had for sale.  So the four of us kids went out the night before and caught them.  It was rainy to top it off!
We all got a little wet, but somehow Noah managed to get soaked!

"Oh, this shoe tastes so good!"

Clancy has been feeling a bit like the fifth wheel!  He is actually pretty protective of the kittens, but sometimes feels a little left out!  Poor guy!

Kimme, The Talking Goat

The other day, Kimme, our matron milk goat was sitting out in the field all by herself and was just begging for a picture to be taken of her.

She appears to be talking to me!
